Composer, musician, and founding member of Tin Hat, Mark Orton, used to play along to Steve Lacy’s solo soprano sax Monk records. He taught himself music and one day found himself in New York at MOMA, looking at art with Lac’s wife, Irene. Lacy introduced him to the head engineer of the Knitting Factory, and thus began his career in music. Click below to hear the story!
