Astoria will have a new mayor in 2019.

The Daily Astorian reports that Mayor Arline LaMear has decided not to seek re-election, citing personal reasons.

Her four-year term ends in December, as do the City Council terms of Zetty Nemlowill and Cindy Price. The trio formed the city’s first council with a majority of women.

LaMear spent six years on the council before winning the November 2014 mayoral race.

Nemlowill has yet to say if she will seek re-election, but Price is certain she will run again and is contemplating a bid for mayor.

Price is married to Clatsop County District Attorney Josh Marquis, who recently announced he won’t seek re-election.
