Celebration Marks 40th Anniversary of Oregon's Legislative Commission On Indian Services


The nine confederated tribes of Oregon gathered at the Capital building in Salem on Thursday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Legislative Commission on Indian Services.

Thursday marked the 40th anniversary of Oregon’s Legislative Commission on Indian Services, and the state’s top legislators gathered at the capitol to celebrate.

The ceremony consisted of a processional ceremony through the rotunda, where each of the nine confederated tribes of Oregon presented their colors.

The Siletz Nee-dash singers and other tribes also performed.
