An ethics complaint filed by the Lincoln City Council against Mayor Donald Williams has been dismissed.
The Oregon Government Ethics Commission, which investigates ethics complaints against public officials, moved to dismiss the complaint during its Oct. 23 meeting.
The August complaint, which is 26 pages long and supplemented by hundreds of pages of exhibits, alleged that Williams acted on a conflict on interest and used his public office for financial gain.
In a September interview with the Statesman Journal, Williams called the complaint “overkill.”
Williams said Wednesday that he’s glad the complaint has been dismissed and is looking forward to moving past the allegations.
