Numerous rallies are being held Monday across the U.S. in support of a youth-led climate lawsuit that had been scheduled to go to trial this week in Eugene.

At least 500 people attended one such rally this morning outside the federal courthouse in Eugene. It’s scheduled to run from 8 a.m. until noon.

The youth plaintiffs and their attorneys spoke during the rally.

“This is no ordinary lawsuit,” one of the lawyers, Philip Gregory, said to loud applause.
