The Klamath County Peace Officer’s Association (KCPOA) has said they may initiate a recall election of Sheriff Frank Skrah after he was indicted on nine misdemeanor charges last week.
Becky Gallagher, attorney for the sheriff’s deputies’ union, said Monday her clients were hoping Skrah would have placed himself on paid administrative leave after being indicted Thursday. Charges against Skrah include allegations of assault and mistreatment of suspects, as well as improperly responding to a deputy damaging personal property while on duty.
Skrah was booked, photographed and released from the county jail Monday.
Skrah confirmed Monday he intends to remain acting as sheriff, which Gallagher said is allowing him to continue violating deputies’ rights.
