UPDATE (Aug. 9, 2:10 p.m. PT) — Two sheriff’s deputies were reported shot near Hagg Lake in Washington County Thursday afternoon. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the deputies were shot after they responded to reports of stolen weapons.
One deputy remains in serious condition at Oregon Health & Science University, the sheriff’s office said Friday. The other deputy was treated and released and is recovering at home.
The Portland Tribune reported that a LifeFlight helicopter was activated to get medical attention for at least one of them.
The person suspected of shooting the deputies was also shot, and “is still receiving medical care,” according to the sheriff’s office.
