Employees At Oregon High School Cautioned After Kneeling During Anthem

Five Churchill High School staff members have been cautioned after taking a knee during the national anthem at a student assembly June 1.

The five staff members received a “letter of directive” some time after the assembly. The letter is not disciplinary, Eugene School District spokeswoman Kerry Delf said Friday. In this case, the letter served as a “reminder not to engage in acts of political expression during the workday,” she said.

Delf declined to identify the staff members or to say if they were teachers or other types of school employees.
