New on newstands this week: a magazine appreciating the way we live.
Portland Spaces is a glossy exploration of design, building, gardening, and other home & hearth issues, targeted at the Willamette Valley.
It's a sister publication to the lifestyle mag, Portland Monthly.
Its inaugural issue has articles on iconic NW homes, five neighborhoods in downtown Portland, and lots of splashy ads.
At the steering wheel for Portland Spaces is Randy Gragg. He spent 17 years writing for the Oregonian, best known as the paper's architecture critic. In that role, Gragg often spoke out, questioning whether Oregon is living up to its reputation as a place that cares about building it right.
