Oregon’s meager snowpack should get a little help this coming week, with a series of small snowstorms expected in the Cascade Range.

A total of 9 to 17 inches of snow is forecast for Cascade passes from Thursday to Sunday, with more expected next week.

Snow levels are expected to drop as low as 2,000 feet by the weekend, but not quite to Salem or Portland levels.

“It’s probably not going to bring the huge amounts everyone is really hoping for, but it’s something, and it should last for a while,” National Weather Service meteorologist David Bishop said.
