Search and teams rescued a lost, injured hiker from a trail on the slopes of Mount Hood above the Columbia River Gorge early Tuesday morning.

Crews had been trying to reach Leslie Drapiza of Silverton, Oregon, for most of Monday. Drapiza is a family medicine doctor who had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

She had been able to text family members that she was injured, though crews struggled to reach her by phone after that.

Rescuers found her in what they call difficult terrain in the area of Lancaster Falls on Warren Creek. She was able to walk to the trailhead, arriving at about 1:30 Tuesday morning.
