Creswell’s ban on recreational marijuana sales will remain in place, and pot company One Gro’s plans to sell marijuana in the southern Lane County city have gone up in smoke.
Residents in Creswell strongly voted down Ballot Measure 20-280, which would have allowed retail pot sales. By late Tuesday night, nearly 85 percent of ballots cast were against and 15 percent were in support.
The vote count was 1,539 opposed and 281 in favor of pot sales.
One Gro, a marijuana startup based in Creswell, pushed for the initiative that brought a second vote on recreational marijuana sales in the city in a year. Creswell residents last November narrowly voted to ban pot sales.
