Oregon Green Products Head To Chicago

A biofueled truck filled with some of Oregon’s "green" products headed for Chicago Tuesday to participate in a conference on sustainable building practices.

The truck is carrying everything from glass art to wood ceilings. Oregon's sustainable vendors will showcase their products at a booth they're calling the P-D-X Lounge.

Brendan Finn, Chief of Staff for Portland City Commissioner Dan Salzman, says that the lounge will help promote green Portland businesses.

Brandon Finn: "By taking our businesses to Chicago we'll be putting them on display for the rest of the world to see and hopefully for them to get business in other parts of the country and world.  One of the cornerstones of our local economic development effort is to export the expertise that Portland has generated here."

The Green Build Conference starts November 5th.  Fifty-four organizations, including local governments, non-profits and businesses, will represent Oregon there.
