Portland Marching Band To Play At Presidential Inauguration

A unique Portland marching band will be playing in the Presidential Inauguration parade later this month.  Pete Springer has the story.

“Uno, dos, one, two, three, quarto….”

Get a Life Marching BandThe Get A Life Marching Band plays in eight parades a year — mostly around Oregon.

But they also hit the road every year and this year that means heading to Washington, D.C. to play for the next president.

Bob Pulido is one of the founders of the Get A Life Marching Band.  The group mostly plays rock 'n' roll and funk.

He says one song they’ll play for the president is ‘Louie Louie’

Bob Pulido “We’ll be playing our two songs for the president.  They wanted an Oregon song and “Louie Louie” is pretty much what started in Oregon by The Kingsmen and Paul Revere and the Raiders.”

The inauguration parade will include about five dozen marching bands from around the country.
