Roseburg hero Alek Skarlatos and his childhood friends, Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone, will soon have their heroic acts turned into a movie that actor Clint Eastwood will be heavily involved in, reported entertainment sources.
Skarlatos was an Oregon Army National Guard specialist, Sadler was a senior student at Sacramento State University and Stone was a U.S. Airman First Class when they became worldwide heroes while vacationing in August 2015.
Their actions occurred when they confronted a 26-year-old Moroccan man armed with an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, a box cutter and ammunition on a Paris-bound train from Brussels, Belgium. The three friends took the gunman down, preventing him from harming hundreds of passengers.
The three heroes later received medals from President Barack Obama and were awarded the French Legion of Honor.
