Speaking on OPB’s Think Out Loud, Kotek said whoever gets into the White House needs to pay attention to what’s happening in state capitols.

“One of the things that we see around the country is, particularly in places like Oregon, we’re moving progressive policies forward and who’s in the White House will matter for that," she said.

"So we can continue to do that work, raising the minimum wage, guaranteeing earned sick time for folks on the job. So we’re doing good things and we want to make sure those things stay. And who’s in the White House really matters," said Kotek.

The Portland Democrat urged people to vote for Hillary Clinton rather than Donald Trump, saying Clinton champions issues like the minimum wage, while Trump sows fear and divisiveness.
