A small earthquake has been recorded north of Salem and Keizer Thursday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 2.9 earthquake hit at 9:02 a.m. Pacific.

The quake was originally estimated at 3.0 but was then revised slightly downward.

It struck about 6 miles northwest of Keizer and 7 miles west of Brooks.
