This summer, Wand descended on the Pickathon festival grounds in Happy Valley, OR and proceeded to blow us away with their energetic performances, including two memorable sets as the backing band for friend and sometime tourmate Ty Segall.
We didn’t know what hit us, and we weren’t alone. Wand has quickly emerged from their home in Los Angeles in a creative fit, churning out an incredible three albums in a little over a year.
On the band’s newest release, 1000 Days, they showcase their rapid growth with 12 concise pysch rock tracks that lean toward prog, metal, and glam without ever tipping over into the self-indulgence that often plagues those sub-genres.
1000 Days will be released on September 25. Until then, you can hear a preview of the album here at opbmusic, including standout tracks Sleepy Dog and Stolen Footsteps.
