The three women of the band Mountain Man were nearly strangers when they began singing together. Amelia Meath first heard Molly Erin Sarle singing in a college dorm living room, learned a song from her and then taught it to Alexandra Sauser-Monnig. Finding an easy affinity through singing, the trio began performing together and released a debut album in 2010. Their second album, “The Magic Ship,” is out this Friday, Sept. 21.
On new songs like “Rang Tang Ring Toon,” their voices wend over and around a traditional-sounding melody with an acoustic guitar as accompaniment.
Mountain Man will play two sets at Doug Fir Lounge on Tuesday, November 6: an all-ages show at 5:30 and a 21+over show at 9:00 p.m. The later performance is sold out. The Dead Tongues opens both concerts.
