When Dr. Dog is back in Portland February 16 to play the Roseland Theater, it’ll be their second trip to the West Coast behind their most recent album, “Critical Equation.” That album – their tenth – followed a rare period of downtime after 15 years of touring.

When we met up with the band for a soundcheck session in 2018, frontman Scott McMicken told us that working with a producer outside the band was key to recharging their creative juices – a recharge that was evident in the rollicking punch of their performance that day.

Dr. Dog will play the Roseland Theater Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8:00 p.m. Michael Nau plays an opening set. It’s open to all ages. We’re giving away tickets, and here’s how you could win a pair of them:
