The Hackles are a new band from husband and wife Kati Claborn and Luke Ydstie – two members of Astoria band Blind Pilot. We’re hosting the premiere of their new video, “Peaches,” with gorgeous photography taken around Tillamook, Oregon.
According to the band, “’Peaches’ is a song about what it is to give yourself to someone, and how that shakes out when you’re apart: about love and the hollowed-out driftlessness that can be the other side of the coin. ‘Peaches’ is one of the more traditionally rooted and introspective tunes on our forthcoming album ‘A Dobritch Did as a Dobritch Should.’”
That album title will send you straight to Google, but it refers to a Bulgarian-born circus impresario named Al Dobritch, who helped open the Circus Circus casino in Las Vegas and later jumped to his death there.
The Hackles’ new album is released Friday, Nov. 8. They’ll play at Polaris Hall in Portland on Nov. 14.
