Our first time seeing Portland’s Kyle Craft was by chance. On the rooftop at local venue Revolution Hall to record a much-anticipated 2015 comeback concert by Y La Bamba, we were struck by the opening band warming up: the lanky, Louisiana-accented Kyle Craft and his full band. The impressive set we heard that night was drawn from Craft’s then-unreleased debut album, “Dolls of Highland.” Songs from that record, including “Lady of the Ark” became some of our most-played new music of 2016.

Kyle Craft celebrates the release of his new album, “Full Circle Nightmare,” with a hometown release show Friday, Feb. 2 at Doug Fir Lounge. Opening bands are The Shivas and Ghost Foot. It’s a 21 and over show.
