Indie-pop act Natalie Prass will play Mississippi Studios on Sept. 26.

On her most recent album “The Future and The Past,” the Richmond, Virginia-based artist “oo-wahs” her way through songs like “Short Court Style,” which melds funky beats with basketball metaphors. She took a sudden turn while producing the album — scrapping most of the original material in favor of more political songwriting as soon as President Donald Trump was elected. Prass released the album in June to critical acclaim.

Natalie Prass plays Mississippi Studios on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. The show is 21+. Stella Donnelly opens.
