Brazilian singer and actor Seu Jorge may be best known in the U.S. for his role in the Wes Anderson film “The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou,” that stars Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Anjelica Huston. In the film, Jorge plays a sailor named Pele dos Santos, who sings David Bowie songs in Portuguese, accompanied only by acoustic guitar. (Bowie said he liked the arrangements and the not-quite word-for-word translations of his songs into Portuguese.) Jorge released an album of the songs in 2005 after the film was released.
This summer, Seu Jorge is touring with those cover songs in a performance of “The Life Aquatic: A Tribute to David Bowie.” He performs at the Oregon Zoo, Wednesday, June 21. We’re giving away tickets, and here’s how to enter for a chance to win:
