A new covers compilation, Cover Me - Volume 1, is due out this month, featuring contributions from an impressive lineup of Portland-based musicians including Ivan Howard (The Rosebuds), Natron Andrews (Nate from Black Book Guitars), The Jackalope Saints, and Miracle Falls (Paul Dillon of Mercury Rev, Sparklehorse).

You can listen to The Phantom Ships (featuring Matt Brown of Bunk Bar and Steve Turner of Mudhoney) cover “Black Hole” by seminal LA punk band The Urinals exclusively at opbmusic above.

Recorded and produced at the Get Loud House in Portland, Oregon by Battleme frontman (and sometime opbmusic contributor) Matt Drenik, Cover Me - Volume 1 is a sprawling project that references an eclectic mix of source material from Townes Van Zandt to Tina Turner. The full compilation will be released on July 15th.
