The Avett Brothers have had a fairly remarkable, nearly 20 year run as a band. The group started by Seth and Scott Avett, which grew wildly popular in live shows that featured banjos and stand-up bass played with the ferocious glee of a punk rock underground band, has now released nine studio albums and become one of the most established touring acts in the country. Famed producer Rick Rubin has been at the wheel for three of those records, and their upcoming tenth album, “Closer Than Together.”
Their 2019 tour starts here in the Pacific Northwest, and they’ll be joined by jazzy pop group Lake Street Dive for shows in Salem and Bend, August 11 and 13.
