With the warm, long days of summer just ahead, we’re excited to premiere the first new video in the Road Sessions series, recorded at some of Oregon’s beautiful and unique State Parks. Cottonwood Canyon is a brand new state park in Central Oregon. It includes 8-thousand acres of grassland, sagebrush, and high cliffs along the John Day River, as it cuts a winding course through the high desert towards the Columbia. (See the map below.)
Dynamic Portland pop band Lost Lander (Matt Sheehy, Sarah Fennell, Patrick Hughes, William Seiji Marsh) set up at Cottonwood Canyon to play their song “Trailer Tracks.” Lead singer Sheehy is a forester by trade, and says he gets inspiration to write songs by traveling around the state. One of Lost Lander’s songs was used in an Oregon Lottery campaign to promote the opening of Cottonwood Canyon State Park in 2014.
Look for a new Road Sessions premiere on opbmusic every Thursday in June and the first week of July.
Catch some of the bands from this series playing at Pints in the Pearl this Saturday (June 4) from 12-9pm at N.W. 13th & Everett. Performers include The Weather Machine, Sama Dams, and Haley Heyndericks.
