Laura Theodore is a popular television personality and radio host, vegan chef, compassionate cookbook author, and award-winning jazz singer and actor. She is the proud creator of Jazzy Vegetarian and author of Jazzy Vegetarian Classics: Vegan Twists on American Family Favorites and Jazzy Vegetarian: Lively Vegan Cuisine Made Easy and Delicious.
Laura is the on-camera host, writer, and co-producer of the Jazzy Vegetarian cooking show on public television, presently available in more than 85% of American homes. In addition, Laura hosts the weekly podcast radio show, Jazzy Vegetarian Radio, a talk/music format focusing on plant-based recipes, eco-friendly tips, celebrity interviews, and upbeat music, served up with a bit of fun on the side.
Laura has made guest appearances on ABC, NBC, CBS, and Public Television, and she has been featured on Insider/Entertainment Tonight, News 4-NBC, Better TV, and CBS Radio. Laura has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, New York Daily News, New York Post, VegNews, Family Circle, Readers Digest, PBS Food, and Time magazine, among others.
As a jazz singer and songwriter, Laura has recorded six solo CDs, including her Musician Magazine Award–winning album, Tonight’s the Night. Her CD release with the late, great Joe Beck, entitled Golden Earrings, was selected to appear on the 52nd Grammy Awards list in the category of Best Jazz Vocal Album. Laura has appeared in more than sixty musicals, including the hit Off-Broadway show Beehive, which earned her a coveted Backstage Bistro Award. She was honored with the Denver Drama Critics Circle Award as Best Actress in a Musical for her starring role as Janis Joplin in the world premiere production of Love, Janis.
