Humpback whales have been spotted in the Columbia River feeding on anchovies. The anchovies normally spawn in the river, but it's rare to see whales come in this far to feed. It's likely there's a lack of food for the whales in their normal ocean feeding grounds because of warmer than usual water temperatures.
