Dog Training Program In Oregon Prison

The Two Rivers Correctional Institution’s Rehabilitating Canines and Offenders (ROC) program began operating early this spring. The program brings 6 dogs into the prison to be trained by eighteen inmates. The inmates receive weekly training sessions from a professional and the dogs are expected to pass the American Kennel Club Good Citizens test after about 2 months. Upon completion of the program, the dogs will be eligible for adoption to the general public.

  • Cory Lewis: Inmate at Two Rivers Correction Institute and trainer in the ROC program.
