Girls are often raised to be quiet and shy, not brave and adventurous. This hour, we talk to authors who have written books exploring what it’s like for women who choose to be bold instead.  Caroline Paul and Wendy MacNaughton present The Gutsy Girl: Escapades for Your Life of Epic Adventure, interviewed by Think Out Loud producer Julie Sabatier; Amber Keyser on The V-Word: Stories of First-Time Sex, interviewed by Think Out Loud senior producer Allison Frost; and Ruby McConnell with A Woman’s Guide to the Wild, interviewed by OPB reporter Amelia Templeton.

These interviews were recorded as a part of Wordstock, Portland’s literary festival.
