We talk to writer Jill Lepore, author of “These Truths,” a compelling and sweeping history of the United States from the founding of the country to the election of President Donald Trump.

Lepore is a staff writer at the New Yorker and a professor of American history at Harvard University. Her work explores American history, law, literature and politics. Her last book, “The Secret History of Wonder Woman,” won the 2015 American History Book Prize.

Dave Miller sits down with Lepore in front of a live audience at Literary Arts in downtown Portland. Lepore is in town for the Portland Arts and Lecture series, which is sold out.
