- Loretta Smith has finished her term as Multnomah County Commissioner for District 2 and is seeking a seat on the Portland City Council. Four candidates, all people of color, are running to replace her. Willamette Week reporter Rachel Monahan introduces us to each of the candidates.
- Students in Cleveland High School’s Cleveland Alliance for Racial Equity class conducted a survey last fall: They asked their classmates how often they were stopped or followed in the hall by security guards, teachers and administrators. They found that black and Latino students were more likely than white classmates to be stopped or followed. Sophomore Lydia Wade Sully and senior Caroline Diamond tell us more about their survey.
