  • Washington Governor Inslee has vetoed a bill that would have exempted legislators from most public records requests. The bill was passed last week only 48 hours after being introduced, and a huge public outcry seems to have let many legislators change their minds. OPB’s Olympia correspondent Austin Jenkins fills us in.
  

  

  • In the wake of a damning, year-long audit into Oregon’s Child Welfare system, we hear from two Department of Human Services caseworkers about how the findings of that audit play out day-to-day in their jobs. Rosanne Scott and Kelly Paluso share their experience working in an agency that they say does not provide them with the resources they need to do prevention work, or recruit and adequately support the number of foster parents needed.
