There are currently over 100 unidentified bodies in Oregon’s morgues, and all of them are the responsibility of the state’s forensic anthropologist, Nici Vance. In addition to her work on more clear cut cases, Vance would like to put names and stories to the remains in her care.

The Center of Investigative Reporting’s new radio show Reveal designed a tool to make it easier for the public to search for missing persons or unidentified bodies.

This story is part of a larger project by Reveal, public radio’s first investigative news show. You can listen to “Left For Dead” from Reveal, CIR and PRX on OPB Tuesday at 9 p.m.
