In the world of media and presidential politics, it wouldn’t be too much of an exaggeration to say that Jim Lehrer has seen it all.
For PBS fans, Jim Lehrer needs no introduction. As the executive editor and anchor of the PBS NewsHour, he has interviewed presidential candidates and been chosen to moderate more presidential debates than anyone else.
In 2012, when Jim Lehrer came by our studios, he had just written a new nonfiction book, Tension City: Inside the Presidential Debates, from Kennedy-Nixon to Obama-McCain, drawing on his decades long career in journalism, and focused on his experience with national presidential debates. (You can watch the PBS NewsHour piece about it here.) Lehrer has also written 20 novels, three plays and two memoirs.
