The Story Behind The Success Of The Oregon Chub

This little Oregon minnow has the big distinction of becoming the first fish to come off of the endangered species list. As Oregon Fish and Wildlife chub biologist Brian Bangs tells it, the success of the chub is largely due to the cooperation of private landowners who volunteered to create chub reserves in their own private ponds and lakes. Bangs is particularly enamored of the chub, since there’s nowhere else in the world that it’s found outside the Willamette Valley.
