Exploring The Revenue Forecast And The State Budget

Portland Public Schools, along with some other districts in the state, will get an unexpected windfall this year, if state economists’ projections prove true.

Oregon’s Office of Economic Analysis released its first quarterly revenue forecast of 2014 on Wednesday. While the forecast includes some good news for schools, the outlook isn’t as positive for some state agencies. Overall, the analysis of economic trends shows lawmakers will have to make some additional cuts to the budget approved in the 2013 session.
