A Year In The Portland Rose Garden

Harry Landers has guided Portland’s famous International Rose Test Garden for two decades. He increased the garden by more than 7,000 rose plants and needs an army of volunteers to tend the 650 varieties across 4.5 acres of blooms. Portland Parks & Recreation gets hundreds of new roses free every year to plant in the garden from rose companies. In exchange, the garden provides free research, evaluating which new varieties grow the best.
