Dam Removals

In the past decade, several high-profile dam removals have happened in the Northwest.

But not all dams are created equally. Not all pose insurmountable problems for migrating fish. But dams can fundamentally change large swaths of river ecosystems. And age, disuse and advances in technology have made many dams obsolete. That’s changing how we as a society think about dams.
