Radio Cab driver stabbed, killed in Portland

An on-duty cab driver was fatally stabbed in Southeast Portland Sunday.

Police say it happened just after 6:30 p.m. near Southeast Washington Street and Water Avenue. They have not released the identity of the victim, but confirmed it was a Radio Cab driver.

Radio Cab released a statement early Monday morning on social media, saying the driver was stabbed to death by a passenger while working an Easter Sunday shift.

“Our hearts are broken this morning as we struggle to make sense of this horrific crime against one of our own,” the statement reads.

Police arrested a suspect and charged him with second-degree murder.
