Spokesperson Tyler Richardson said savings vary from 15% to 60% over two years.

Customers can apply on PGE’s website.

“It’s available in 15 languages,” Richardson said. “Customers can also call our call center and speak with one of our advisers.”

PGE started the income-qualified bill discount program in 2022. So far about 75,000 customers have signed up — that’s more than the population of Springfield. The utility estimates another 85,000 people are now eligible.

“Energy is essential, and PGE is committed to serving everyone reliable and affordable power,” said Michaela Lynn, PGE’s senior director of customer service. “The IQBD has an easy enrollment process and was designed to result in meaningful assistance. We encourage all who qualify to sign up today.”
