Roseburg community members held a vigil Thursday night for the victims of a shooting at Umpqua Community College earlier in the day. People gathered at Stewart Park for a candlelight vigil after dark. Earlier in the day, a gunman killed nine people and injured several others. The shooter died after an exchange of gunfire with police. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown delivered brief remarks at the somber vigil. Earlier in the day, Brown said, "we are holding the community of Douglas County in our hearts." People at the vigil held candles and sang songs in remembrance of the victims.
