Armed occupiers have disrupted community life for residents in Burns, Oregon, said Harney County Sheriff David Ward.

During the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward was a leading local voice against the occupiers.

Now Ward is up for election. His opponent, Alan Johnson, is a retired Oregon State Police Trooper.
