In 2002, Donovan Allen was convicted of the aggravated murder of his mother, Sharon Cox.

Lawyers with the Innocence Project Northwest say

he didn’t do it

. They got a judge to agree to new DNA analysis, and last week police charged a second man for the same murder.

But Donovan Allen is still serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. And now the Innocence Project Northwest is asking the court to vacate his conviction and grant him a new trial.

GUEST:

Editor's note: We asked the Cowlitz County DA's office, and the Longview police department for their perspective, but they did not return calls before deadline.
