Summit High School in the Bend-La Pine school district is reopening Feb. 22 after managing an outbreak of positive COVID-19 tests among its students earlier this month.

Students, parents and teachers at Summit High School in Bend have been on a pandemic rollercoaster. The school closed down for in-person instruction just days after it had transitioned from online learning. Dozens of its students tested positive for COVID-19 in an outbreak connected to a party. The high school reopens Monday. We ask the Regional Director of School Safety Julianne Repman and Emily Freeland, branch director of the COVID-19 response team with Deschutes County Public Health about the incident and efforts to prevent future outbreaks.
