A Portland man has been charged with killing three people and injuring three more in separate shooting incidents this year.
Joseph Banks, 49, was arrested on March 2 in connection with two shootings that happened within 10 minutes of each other on Feb. 28 in Northeast Portland. The victims in those shootings survived their injuries.
Since he was taken into custody, Banks has been charged in connection with the shooting deaths of 29-year-old Isaiah Hurst on Jan. 2 in North Portland; 35-year-old Jeff Ramirez on Feb. 2 in Southeast Portland; and 55-year-old Mark Johnson in Northeast Portland.
Banks is also accused of shooting and injuring someone in yet another incident on Feb. 2.
Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced this week that Banks has been indicted on a total of 15 charges, including three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
Banks is being held without bail in the Multnomah County Jail.
