Winter weather alerts extended for Cascades, Western Oregon

Winter weather alerts covering much of Western Oregon will continue through at least Thursday morning.

Winter storm warnings are in effect along the Coast Range and in southwest Oregon, where the National Weather Service says up to a foot of snow could fall in areas above 2,000 feet of elevation. Heavy snow will also continue to fall in the Cascades.

Wind chill warnings stretch from the north Willamette Valley to the Gorge. Temperatures could drop to single-digits in the Portland metro area and well below zero in the foothills Thursday and Friday.
