1 killed, 1 injured in Northeast Portland shooting

The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. in Northeast Portland’s Hollywood District.

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Northeast Portland on Friday morning.

Police were called just before 7 a.m. to the report of a shooting in the 4200 block of Northeast Halsey Street.

Responding officers and paramedics found two gunshot victims at the scene. One man was dead. The other was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.

It happened in an area with several nearby businesses, but Portland Police Bureau Sgt. Kevin Allen said it did not happen inside any of the businesses.

He said the shooter or shooters left the scene before police arrived, and no immediate arrests were made.
