Listen Now: A Political Playlist For The Oregon Primary

Surely, the revolution will not be televised. Gil Scott-Heron said that and, in doing so, created one of the more politically charged songs you'll ever hear.  He was right about the revolution, but we all know that the election cycle will be televised, Twittered, Facebooked, polled, poked, prodded and presented on any and every platform.

Since we are all along for the ride, nothing makes a trip smoother than some good tunes.  Here's a playlist of some of the great politically tinged tunes that have hit airwaves and beyond during previous election cycles, which, believe it or not, might still be relevant to this one.

Hear Howlin' Wolf sing the perils of political corruption.  Feast your ears on The Pharcyde daydreaming about becoming the President.  And when Louis Armstrong lets you know that he represents the human race, you might have to just write him in for Commander-in-Chief.
